Campaign Launch Video

The campaign anthem video is an important piece within a capital campaign, but we encourage and work with all of our clients to maximize the video concept to cover the length of the campaign. We don't just think about how to make an impact for one day, we think about how to make an impact across years. What you will see in the following videos is a comprehensive and cohesive video strategy. Everything shares the same message and looks and feels like it is part of something larger. When we think about video campaigns in this manner, efficiencies materialize to help us execute the larger vision in a time and cost effective way. This particular video was the manifesto that set the tone for the entire campaign. This was created for in person events held around the country and online. Our concept revolved around nostalgia, timelessness and highlights major accomplishments by both the College and it's alumni to evoke a sense of pride amongst alumni.

Joe Bastian

We flew to Chicago for one day to capture Joe, Dan and Mary's stories. We conducted pre-interviews with all subjects to better understand who they were which helped when it came time to conducting their interview. Knox was a family affair for Joe. Both his brother and sister were alums and he married his time at Knox to his family and his future success in business. This video was created pre-launch to announce his major gift and tell his story.

Mary Kent Knight

Mary was a reluctant participant at first. She originally donated anonymously but changed her mind because she felt so strongly about encouraging others to give back to Knox. Her reluctance doesn't show within the video because we were talking to her about a subject she clearly loved, Knox. Our conversation with her sparked an idea surrounding the alma mater song which later became the concept for the on-campus event video that is below. Like it was mentioned above, sometimes efficiencies happen by diving deep into the campaign and ideas come easier and faster.

Dan Spaulding

Dan met his wife Liz at Knox. Both shared formative moments and professors the profoundly affected their lives and wanted to share their story with the larger Knox alumni community. They were both hoping to set an example for younger alumni about how you don't have to wait to make an impact.

Tony Etz

Meeting Tony ended up being very special to us. Tony was the board president at the time of our interview with him. His grandfather was a former chair of Knox's board and he was proudly following in his family's footsteps. While we were filming the campaign video on campus we ran into Tony who was incredibly complimentary of the work we had created with Knox. It really meant a lot to us that someone who had Knox running through their veins say that they teared up a bit when he watched our videos. Unfortunately, Tony lost his battle with cancer this past year and our team passed along the footage we had captured with him to create an in memoriam. What started as a project to raise money has turned into so much more for a community.

On-Campus Launch Video

The concept for this video came organically through our pre-interviews with alumni Mary Kent Knight, who had an affinity and would sing the Alma Mater song. We tucked that idea into our back pocket to use in a video that kicked off Knox's on-campus launch event. The sounds of the bell on campus was something that every alum was familiar with and was used to calm the crowd and bring attention that the event was starting. This piece was a "bonus" that we were able to make for Knox because we were now very familiar with the College and stories and was made in less than 2 days total. One of the intangibles that we have found is that it gets easier to create for a campaign the longer we work together.

Carol Craig

You have to think about how you sustain the messaging for your campaign beyond the launch. While developing the concepts for the entire campaign we came across what we felt was the best way to celebrate all that Knox had accomplished and that to highlight it's amazing alumni. It just so happens that when we were making this video, Carol was preparing to launch her next satellite which she affectionately named after Knox. We worked closely with Knox's internal team to create the first four profile videos for social media and then handed the templates as well as a list of people off to Knox so they could create as many as they would like for the length of the campaign.

Todd Monken

Continuing the series, we had a chance to profile Todd whose team happened to be on a deep run in the NFL playoffs.

Bridget Coughlin

Bridgets story, like the others we had found, left us in awe about what one can accomplish. We went from telling people that Knox was special to truly believing it ourselves.

Natasha Caudill

Natasha was another great example of everything a Knox student can accomplish.
