If you’re a diehard sports fan, this might as well be a question at your local bar trivia. It seems the questions are never challenging enough or geared toward topics you care about. That is, until Anthony ‘the Cuz’ Gargano decided to change the game with Cuzzo, the be-all and end-all of sports trivia apps.

As a longtime sports media personality and host of Philadelphia’s 97.5 The Fanatic, he had the fanbase already. As a lifelong Philly sports fan himself, he had the insider knowledge. He had app prototypes and a team of developers. All he needed was a go-to-market strategy and a look and feel to get every fan to want to download, play, and spread the word. That’s where T&C came in.

So how do you get a Philadelphian to try something new? Challenge them. We raised the stakes beyond existing trivia apps by positioning Cuzzo as the place to prove your Philly sports knowledge through solo, head-to-head, or team play. And we did it by speaking their language—loud, brash, and bold.

RESULTS

Cuzzo saw 9k downloads within the first three months of launch, maintaining a 4.9-star rating in the App Store.

With a successful launch and continued growth in Philadelphia, Cuzzo has built a foundation to scale the app to fans in additional cities and expand beyond sports to offer other Philly-themed trivia.
